Where is Loita?

The Loita forest is a 330 Km2 indegenous forest in Narok District near the Kenya/Tanzania border and part of the larger Mara/Serengeti ecosystem. This forest covers a range of hills over 2000m above sea level and is situated on the edge of the Great Rift Valley that lies 1500m below! Within the Loita Naimina Enkiyio forest you will find glades, swamps and small rivers. It is recognised for its biodiversity by the World Conservation Union (IUCN) and Birdlife International classifies the region an important Bird Area (IBA).
